About the Winter Carnaval
Big Rock Eco Retreat is proud to host the Winter Carnaval, presented by the 1st Bancroft Scouting Group as part of their Scouts Canada National Challenge. This French Carnaval-themed event is a celebration of learning, adventure, and community, bringing together Scouts across the country through exciting weekly challenges.
Activities & Entertainment
The event will feature mini canoe races where participants can test their skills, a snow sculpture contest to showcase creativity, and outdoor mazes designed for a fun and interactive experience. Guests can indulge in traditional maple taffy, enjoy the excitement of snow snakes races, and be entertained by the Jungle Nights Show, a special Scout-led performance. Scouting demonstrations will highlight outdoor skills and knowledge, while free hot chocolate will be available to keep everyone warm. An outdoor BBQ will be available with delicious treats, including cotton candy, popcorn, and slushies. The day will be filled with live music and a welcoming community atmosphere.
What to Bring
Participants should dress warmly for outdoor fun and bring a non-perishable food donation to support the local community. There will be designated heated areas throughout the retreat for relaxation and warmth. Food will be available at a cost, cash only.
Community & Participation
This community event is open to all and is made possible by the Scouts and their dedicated leaders, along with the team at Big Rock Eco Retreat. The goal is to participate, share, learn, and most importantly, have a ton of winter fun!
Parking Information
Limited parking is available on-site and there is an off-site lot just a short 5-10 mins walk away.
